Nora Schattauers malerische Zeichnungen zeigen minimalistische Konstellationen: sie sind Resultat komplexer Handlungen. Im ungeleimten Papier reagieren mineralische Farbstoffe aufeinander und entwickeln erst im Arbeitsprozess Farben. Chemische und physikalische Wirkungen spielen mit, Materie geht von einem Zustand in einen anderen über. In der substantiellen Durchdringung der Bildoberfläche öffnet sich die Sicht auf in Schwingung versetzte Farbbahnen, feine Strukturen und auf in Unschärfe gezogene Rasterformationen.

Nora Schattauer’s works on paper are painterly drawings.
The minimalist constellations are the result of complex actions.
In the unsized paper, mineral pigments react with each other and only develop colours in the working process. Chemical and physical effects are at play, and matter passes from one state to another.
In the substantial penetration of the pictorial surface, the view opens up to vibrating bands of colour, fine structures, and grid formations drawn into blurriness.
